No Symptoms or close contact

In order to participate in the ORTA guided hiking program you must confirm that you have no symptoms of Covid-19 or its variants nor have you had any close contact with anyone that has symptoms or tested positive. Please note Hike Leaders can discourage hikers in obvious poor health from participating. Hikers can also retain the right to ask members sharing a vehicle, to wear a mask.

The Following Governs the Registration Process:
  • Each Registration is good for ONLY ONE PERSON. Please ensure only one name is in the "First Name" field.
  • Family Members and Members registering a non-member guest: Please note that if more than one hiker is registering for the same hike you must register each person separately. After you register yourself, there is a button to register again. Click on it to enter other family members name or your non-member guest's name for the same hike and proceed as usual through the registration process. Members are required to speak to the Hike Leader to obtain approval BEFORE registering their non-member guest.
  • In keeping with Provincial mandates and the comfort level of individual hike leaders, the number of registrants allowed may be limited.
  • Hikes are open to ORTA members and their registered non-member guest. Some hikes will allow non-members. A non-member will not be able to view or register for Member only hikes.
  • Review the hike listings below and click on the one that interests you to register or for more information.
  • You will receive an email confirming your registration. Keep it as a reminder.
  • If the hike is full you can register to be placed on the wait list. "Join Waitlist" If an opening becomes available, the first person that is on the waiting list will be automatically registered and notified by email.
  • Should you need to cancel your registration, you have an obligation to Cancel your Registration using the online system, PLUS If you are cancelling after 6 pm the night before the hike, contact the hike leader to let them know you have cancelled. Your cancellation will allow your fellow hiker to go. If you are having difficulty only then contact the office by email info@oakridgestrail.org and state your name, which hike, and Michele will cancel it for you, but you still must contact the leader.
  • Should you become registered for a hike after 6pm the night before the hike, (even if from the waitlist) you must contact the hike leader to let them know you are attending, as they may have printed off their Hike Leader List already and will not know you are coming and may leave without you.
  •  This registration process and the information gathered takes the place of on-site registration at the hike.
  • NON-Members: Hikes that allow non-members will indicate thus and you will be signing in and checking off the waivers on the day of the hike with the hike leader. Please show up prepared with all the hike requirements met.
